At Photoshop World 2011, we got a chance to try out onOne Software’s DSLR Camera Remote. When connected to a computer that’s running the application, you’re able to remotely trigger the shutter on your supported Canon or Nikon DSLR camera by way of an iOS application that runs on your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. This is a plus in a photoshoot because it allows you the mobility to set-up the shot and move around to interact with photo subjects or clients. Other highlights include:

  • The ability to shoot time-lapse scenes with the intervalometer
  • It supports auto-bracketing for HDR images
  • You can start, stop and monitor video on supported HD DSLR cameras

How it Works

Download the onOne DSLR Camera Remote Server application from iTunes App Store or at www.ononesoftware.com and then connect your supported camera, either with a USB or wirelessly, to a computer that’s running the low-maintenance app.

From there, open the remote application on your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad to use the remote trigger for the camera. You can even start, monitor and stop video recording in the DSLR Camera Remote iPhone Pro and iPad HD versions.
